Box Office Report of Kick, Kick Box Office Collections Report/Record

The Box Office storm named Salmania seems to have hit the Box Office and how! Salman Khan’s Kick, despite releasing on a non-holiday or rather a working day and pre-eid took a gigantic opening on Day 1 i.e. 1st Friday in India at the Box Office.

The film opened to 85-90% occupancy on an average all over India. And this resulted in the film making a whopping business of 26+ crores nett at the Box Office.

The business is extraordinary for the pre Eid period. Even a 22-23 crore nett total would have been huge but the film has gone over 25 crore nett. Rajasthan gave the best performance as it went to near record levels. The areas which under performed will do better from Tuesday onwards.

Despite releasing on a working day and considering the Ramadan period, the movie made a business of over 26 crores on the first friday, thus registering a record of 4th Highest Opening Day ever. and the second highest non holiday opening day ever. The decision to come on Friday rather than on Eid has proved correct as a 26 crore nett total is probably more than the producers expected on Pre Eid.

Mumbai audiences flocked in cinema houses making most of the shows almost housefull. Delhi-UP, East Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Nizam, West Bengal, Bihar performed was packed housefull for morning, evening/late night shows with 100% occupancy. Had the film not dropped in afternoon and early evening shows, the collections would have been even much better touching the 30 crore mark. Nevertheless, the figures are still commendable!

The film is expected to grow saturday and sunday. The advance bookings for the film’s morning and night slots were sold out day-before-yesterday itself and the afternoon and evening shows are filling fast.

Expect massive numbers coming in on 1st Saturday and 1st Sunday at the Box Office.

Last year’s Christmas release – Dhoom 3, starring Aamir Khan, holds the record of Highest Opening Day collections of 36 crores, followed by Shah Rukh Khan’s Eid Release Chennai Express, which collected 33.10 crores (being a Holiday release) and Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger (being a Holiday release) collected 32.92 crores on its opening day.

The numbers of Kick are undoubtedly great, however, it is expected to pick up on Day 2 and Day 3 even more considering a usual upward trend at the Box Office for any film. With the hike in ticket prices at multiplexes all over India, Kick is expected to make some shattering records in its opening weekend.

Not surprisingly, Kick has emerged as the Highest Opening day grosser of 2014 collecting Rs. 26.40 crores. With this, Salman's latest release out-beats his previously released film Jai Ho that collected Rs. 17.55 crores. With this, Salman Khan holds the top two slots for the highest Opening Day grossers of 2014. On the other hand, previous releases that made it to the Top 10 list namely Ek Villain, Gunday, Humshakals, 2 States, Holiday and others all drop a slot, making way for Kick right at the top.
